Investigation of CSUS Fires Continues; Cleanup Begins

Fire investigators have completed their on-site work but have not determined the causes of fires that occurred Thursday in two buildings on the California State University Sacramento, campus. Daniel Berlant, spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said Friday evening that investigators will study information gathered from the scene. Memorial Service for Steve Jobs at Stanford

Apple is planning to hold a memorial for its former chief executive, Steven P. Jobs, on Sunday on Stanford University’s campus. An Apple spokeswoman confirmed that invitations for the event, which will not be open to the public, had been sent to a range of people, among them prominent Silicon Valley executives. Anti-war Activist Sheehan, 18 Occupy Sacramento Protesters Arrested Early Today

Anti-war mom Cindy Sheehan - one of the biggest names in the peace movement, was arrested along with 18 other demonstrators at Cesar Chavez Park early Sunday, police said. Occupy Sacramento reported there have been 58 arrests at the park at 9th and I streets across from City Hall since the nationwide protests began Oct. 6. Illegal Immigrants get Boost in New California Laws

As states such as Alabama and Georgia make waves with a hard-line approach to illegal immigration, California took a leap in the other direction this weekend when Gov. President Obama Dedicates MLK Memorial

President Barack Obama saluted Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sunday as a man who "stirred our conscience" and made the Union "more perfect," rejoicing in the dedication of a monument memorializing the slain civil rights leader's life and work. "I know we will overcome," Obama proclaimed, standing the 30-foot granite monument to King on the National Mall. "I know this," the president said, "because of the man towering over us." Intel in Folsom is Hiring Again

After a decade of downsizing at its Folsom campus, Intel Corp. has begun hiring again. The Santa Clara-based high-tech company, one of the largest private employers in the Sacramento region, said it has added nearly 370 workers to its local operation since January. Deal with Time Warner Brings the CW to Netflix

Once a Netflix skeptic, Time Warner has struck its biggest deal yet to allow the online service to license its television content. On Thursday, the Warner Brothers Television Group of Time Warner and the CBS Corporation announced a $1 billion deal that will give Netflix the rights to stream shows broadcast on the CW network for at least the next eight years. Thousands Around the World Line Up to Buy iPhone 4S

Throngs of Apple fans lined up in the wee hours Friday outside the company's flagship store in Manhattan to be among the first to get their hands on the new iPhone 4S.
