3.7-Magnitude Quake Rumbles Bay Area

PLEASANTON, Calif. (AP) ―
An earthquake has rattled parts of Alameda County.The U.S. Geological Survey says a quake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.7 hit around 8:27 p.m. Tuesday about three miles south of Pleasanton, or about 33 miles southeast of Oakland.

Resurgent storm's strong winds spawn more power outages

Storm winds picked up with a vengeance this afternoon, knocking out power to at least 90,000 homes in the Arden, Carmichael and Citrus Heights areas after SMUD crews had fought throughout the day to restore power to thousands of others.

Young people are at risk for H1N1 complications, studies say

(Health.com)--An analysis of the sickest swine flu patients in Australia, Canada, Mexico, and New Zealand suggests that relatively healthy adolescents and young adults are among the most likely to get very sick after an H1N1 infection, a pattern similar to that seen in the 1918 influenza pandemic.

Who needs a key? IPhone app unlocks and starts car
